Bhagavan Das has a great story, as does this wonderful CD, Harbin Kirtan. Bhagavan Das is the American-born Master of Kirtan (Eastern Chanting) having spent many years in India. While in India in the 1960's, Bhagavan Das became a devotee of the great Indian Saint Neem Karoli Baba. As a result of his time at the holy feet of Neem Karoli Baba and his immersion in the esoteric and spiritual teachings and great wisdom of his studies with this great Indian Saint, Bhagavan Das' music became a synthesis of the Best of the East merging with the Best of the West. Bhagavan Das also spent five years living at Harbin Hot Springs just north of San Francisco. While there, Bhagavan Das led Kirtans Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings during those five special years. Harbin Kirtan is a live recording of one these very special Kirtans.
