Ma Jaya dedicated “Bones and Ash” to her first chela Billy who succumbed to leukemia after more than a decade of fighting. Like any mother who lost her child, Ma Jaya grieved. Billy had always urged Ma Jaya to write and in her grief she began a series of notebooks whose words inspired “Bones and Ash.” “Bones and Ash” is a spiritual journey, comfort for all who struggle with pain from any source. While Billy (also known as Dr. Thomas Byrom) was alive, he and Ma Jaya spoke daily. After his passing, Ma Jaya continued these conversations, writing some 89 journals in all.
