Incense making remains an ancient art still practiced today by Tibetan monastic orders, using centuries-old recipes.
Natural herbs from the Himalayas are hand-picked and enrich the incense whose base is frequently sandalwood.
Tibetan incense is known for having a more earthly scent than Indian or Japanese incense because the ingredients are extremely concentrated.
Tibetan incense is more herbal and less perfumed than traditional Indian incense. It is rolled in the traditional masala method: the ingredients of flowers, spices, herbs and resins are combined together with a natural glue to make stick-less incense.
